Scotland Rugby 2011 World Cup
The 2011 Rugby World Cup is less than 7 months away! by Jacob
Very similar to other world cups, the World Cup of Rugby comes around every 4 years. Even though there are numerous competitions and tours in between, it still continues to be the definitive believe in regarding which team is the greatest on the planet.
Rugby is more popular in the Southern hemisphere among South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. The Tri Nations tournament is held yearly between these nations and was won just last year by the All Blacks in an intensified way. Addititionally there is the Super 14 competition held among these nations provincial teams. Last years final was between 2 South African teams, the Bulls and the Stormers. This gave the view that the South African national team, the Springboks would probably take control of the Tri Nations that happens following the Super 14. It was false and New Zealand and Australia were the glowing stars as they introduced a range of fresh talent.
The Northern hemisphere doesn’t lack rugby love, it’s just that football draws a lot more affection there compared to the south. The Six Nations tournament is organised between France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Italy every year. The final was between England and France a year ago. France won and tend to be currently the Northern hemisphere favorites.
This year the World Cup of Rugby is in New Zealand, home of the present-day top ranked team as stated by the IRB. The All Blacks are one of the most respected teams by their opponents. Playing next to them on their own home ground is thought to be by many as the roughest arrangement for a rugby match. Due to this home field advantage the All Blacks are clearly viewed as favorites. It has to also be taken into account that the demand to deliver can have the opposite result.
With seven months remaining ahead of the kick off to this enormous tournament there is still time for a lot of determining things to make an appearance. One thing is apparent though. The build up should be an experience in by itself and the actual sporting event in September of 2011 definitely will be a excellent unleash of adoring sportsmanship, loyal camaraderie and bench marking enjoyment.
